The Dallas Cowboys will kick off their 2026 season with an exciting game away from home, shining under the MetLife Stadium lights. Fans eagerly awaited the release of the complete game schedule. As they looked over the dates and locations, many began to see some interesting patterns in where and when the team would be playing.
The Cowboys will face the New York Giants in Week 1 on the road. They have home games in Texas for much of the late season. One late trip takes them to Seattle in early December. Then they head to Los Angeles before finishing with home contests.
This setup means the Cowboys stay away from the coldest NFL cities during the toughest winter weeks, and as the schedule breakdown noted, the Cowboys “lucked out from one very important perspective.”
Manager and Editor-In-Chief of Blogging The Boys RJ Ochoa discussed the upcoming weather forecast in a straightforward way in his video.
He said the Cowboys will barely have to deal with cold weather in 2026. He also pointed out that “the Cowboys are only going to have to face two really cold climates.”

Ochoa added that late games stay in milder spots. Another note from him was how home-field advantage in Texas helps avoid freezing conditions that hit other teams hard.
He also mentioned the schedule gives them a break from places known for snow and wind in December and January, saying the Cowboys “are going to be indoors for the most part across the colder part of the year. Very nice.”
Dallas plays at home on December 27 and January 3. Those dates often bring rough weather to many stadiums. Yet AT&T Stadium offers a covered, climate-controlled space. The road game in Los Angeles comes in late December too.
Southern California has mild temperatures. Even the Seattle trip in December tends to stay above the deep-freeze levels seen in the Midwest or the Northeast.
This schedule marks a change for players and coaches. In past years, the Cowboys sometimes found themselves in cold games on the road late in the year.
Now they get more chances to play in better conditions. It could help with health and focus as the season comes to an end.
Fans in Texas will enjoy more home games as the air turns chilly. The full picture shows a team set up well for the stretch run. Next comes a closer look at how this weather edge might shape their playoff chances.
