Bayern Munich’s Max Eberl gets a pass for fibbing on Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich extensions
Earlier today, Bayern Munich announced the signings of Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich to one-year extensions.
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl addressed the situation at his press conference, but was fibbing a bit when asked about the status of Neuer’s potential contract extension.
“We’re in talks. It’s looking good, but we’re not at the point where we can make an announcement yet,” Eberl said in response to a question about Neuer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Eberl can get a pass on this one as he was in about the most awkward position of anyone. The life of an executive, right?
Meanwhile, Bild journalist Christian Falk (via @iMiaSanMia), reported that both Neuer and fellow Ulreich were in line to get one-year extensions. As we know, that happened and Falk’s inside info proved to be correct:
Both Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich have extended their contracts at FC Bayern by another year until June 2027.
These contracts were weeks in the making, but the formality of each deal was kept under wraps as the final details were worked out.
How are you feeling about the contract extensions Bayern Munich fans?
