The New York Knicks head to the City of Brotherly Love to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night, looking to take full control of their Eastern Conference second-round playoff series.
New York owns a 2-0 lead after a 108-102 victory on Wednesday behind 26 points from Jalen Brunson. The Knicks now have a chance to push the 76ers to the brink of elimination, and one step closer to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Knicks finished 53-29 during the regular season and have continued to lean on a balanced scoring attack during the postseason.
On the other hand, Philadelphia, which went 45-37 and earned the No. 7 seed, will try to protect home court and avoid falling into a 3-0 hole. Tyrese Maxey scored 26 points in Game 2 and continues to lead the offense with averages of 28.3 points, 6.6 assists and 1.9 steals this season. Paul George has also provided a spark from the perimeter, averaging 3.2 made 3-pointers over the last 10 games.
If the 76ers hope to beat the Knicks, they would likely do it without Joel Embiid, who’s questionable with a knee injury. However, recent history doesn’t look good for Philadelphia, who is 5-5 over the last ten games.
