Coach Hansi Flick is set to extend his contract with Barcelona until June 2028.
Although there has been no official announcement yet from the La Liga champions, Flick indirectly confirmed media reports to that effect during a news conference on Tuesday.
“Have we already announced it? I’m very happy and what I’ve achieved gives me the confidence to keep going for another year or two,” he told reporters.
Flick’s current contract runs until June 2027. According to media reports, he has agreed on the new deal, but will only sign the contract after the end of the season.
On Sunday, he led the team to a second consecutive La Liga title with a 2-0 win against Real Madrid.
Since joining the club in 2024, he has also won the Copa del Rey last year. The major piece missing in his Barcelona trophy cabinet is the Champions League trophy.
“Everyone dreams of that,” he said. Flick won the Champions League in 2020 with Bayern Munich.
