Ibrahim Diabate’s first-half goal made all the difference as LaLiga champions Barcelona suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Alaves at Estadio de Mendizorroza.
Barca sealed a second-straight league crown with a triumph over rivals Real Madrid at the Nou Camp on Sunday.
The final stretch of their title-winning campaign started with a visit to Alaves, where Hansi Flick’s side fell behind on the stroke of half-time when Diabate sent the struggling hosts ahead.
Alaves then held on in the second half to clinch three points and results elsewhere saw them move out of the drop zone.
Defeat ends an 11-game league winning run for Barca, who now have two games remaining this season, with a clash against Real Betis before they finish the campaign at Valencia.
