Four-star safety Davion Jones is down to five schools, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. The recruit has an official visit locked in with all five of his finalists, including a trip to Athens with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Standing at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Jones is widely regarded as one of the top safeties from the class of 2027. The talented prospect currently has Georgia, Auburn, LSU, South Carolina and Indiana as his top five schools with a final decision expected following his visit with each program.
Jones will take his first official visit to Indiana (May 15), followed by Georgia (May 29), Auburn (June 5), LSU (June 12), and South Carolina (June 19). The safety has been a superstar at Hough High School in North Carolina, and Jones will look to dominate throughout his senior campaign prior to his freshman year in 2027.
Jones is ranked as the No. 10 safety and the No. 153 overall player from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as the No. 7 overall player out of North Carolina, and Jones would be a major addition to the Dawgs’ secondary next season should he decide to sign with Georgia.
Jones is an excellent track athlete. He finished third in the North Carolina 3A state meet in the 100-meters.
The Bulldogs are off to a slow start in the 2027 recruiting class. Five-star cornerback Donte Wright recently flipped his commitment from Georgia to Miami, while three-star wide receiver Aden Starling has decommitted from Georgia.
