Cole Moody pitched a complete-game, six-hitter as 11th-seeded Muhlenberg knocked off sixth-seeded Manheim Township 6-3 on Friday in the first round of the District 3 Class 6A baseball tournament.
Moody struck out six, gave up three earned runs and walked just one.
Marvin Frias was 3 for 4 with two RBIs for the Muhls (12-7) and Michael Canfield was 1 for 3 with an RBI.
Manheim Township, the Lancaster-Lebanon League champion, made seven errors in the game.
Muhlenberg advances to the quarterfinals and wlll play No. 3 Waynesboro on Monday at Waynesboro.
Waynesboro defeated No. 14 Central Dauphin 16-6 on Friday.
In another upset, 13th-seeded Northeastern (11-0) ousted BCIAA champion and fourth-seeded Wilson, 3-1.
In Class 5A, Exeter and Twin Valley lost and were eliminated from the tournament.
