The Kansas City Chiefs will be among the most intriguing teams in the NFL next season after seeing their 2025 campaign end in disaster.
Near the end of Kansas City’s 2025 season, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes sustained a serious knee injury that had the potential to alter the trajectory of his already-legendary career.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave veteran pundit Rich Eisen the inside scoop on Mahomes’ rehab in an appearance on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’ this week. In his comments, Reid said that the former MVP is “getting better every day” and hinted at Mahomes’ potential availability in Week 1 of the regular season.
Take a look at Reid’s appearance on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’ in this video, which was posted to Twitter by SleeperChiefs:

But, just a few months removed from his injury, Mahomes’ recovery seems to be progressing faster than expected.
While it is still too soon to tell if Mahomes will be prepared to take the field against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium on ‘Monday Night Football’ in Week 1, Reid’s positive update should come as a welcome surprise for Kansas City’s fans.
