Arsenal have announced that Laia Codina will leave the club this season on the expiry of her contract.
The defender first joined Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of 2023 after having previously won two Champions League titles with the Catalan side and spending a season on loan at AC Milan.
Codina helped lift the League Cup in her first season and then the Champions League once again last season against her former side, although she did not come off the bench in the final.
In total, Codina has played 58 times for the Gunners in all competitions since her arrival, also netting four times from defence.
“Everyone at Arsenal Football Club thanks Laia for her efforts during her time with us and we wish her well for her next chapter,” the club said in a statement.
This season, the 26-year-old featured in 24 games for Renée Slegers’ side in all competitions, scoring once.
