Auburn Women’s Tennis set to play in the NCAA Championship finals

Auburn women’s tennis set to take on Texas A&M in the NCAA Championship finals on Sunday, May 17.

On Saturday, May 16, the No. 2 seed Tigers defeated No. 3 Ohio State 4-1 in the NCAA Championship semifinals to punch their ticket to their first national championship appearance. Their record improves to a 37-3 on the season as they continue to hold the No. 1 ranking in ITA. A historic year continues for Auburn, as they have already claimed the SEC regular season title and SEC Championship for the first time in program history.

The Tigers will be taking on another SEC school in No. 4 Texas A&M, who defeated No. 1 Georgia 4-3. It will be the third meeting between the two programs this season. They first met on Apr. 2, where the Aggies prevailed 4-3 in College Station, Texas. The second came in the SEC Championship tournament semifinals with the Tigers cruising to a 4-1 win over the Aggies in.

Now they met once for it all. The championship match will be broadcasted on ESPN+ with every individual court. Match start time is set for 6 p.m. CT, as Tigers try to cap off an historic season with a national championship.
