It’s been a tough past week or so for new Los Angeles Sparks guard Kate Martin, but she got to share a wholesome moment with close friend Caitlin Clark on Wednesday evening.
After Clark’s Indiana Fever got a road win over Martin’s new team, the two briefly caught up on the court after the contest and shared a big hug. It was great to see these old Iowa pals reconnect, if only for a quick moment.
Martin got cut unexpectedly by the Golden State Valkyries before the 2026 WNBA season. However, she signed a developmental deal with the Sparks and will now help Los Angeles for the upcoming slate of games.
A bond never broken 🧡

We always love seeing a great Clark-Martin reunion in the WNBA. Maybe they’ll play together again one day?
Why did the Valkyries cut Martin?
The team likely preferred its other guard options at roster cutdown time. Martin was also battling an injury right before the season.
