Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Paul Gervase has a locker at Dodger Stadium in the lead-up to their game against the Atlanta Braves.
Grevase, the tallest pitcher in Dodgers history, has gotten some looks in the major leagues, but most of his work comes in the minor leagues.
Measuring at six feet, 10 inches, Gervase is a mountain of a man, and the righty certainly uses his stocky build to throw high velocity pitches.
However, with the Dodgers having so much depth, Grevase is down in Triple-A, but he could soon join the roster.
Grevase has a locker down in the clubhouse, signaling a possible roster move. There are plenty of possible outcomes for the Dodgers.
What could the Dodgers roster move be?
The most obvious candidate to be put on the injured list is Tyler Glasnow, who left his last outing after the first inning with an issue in his back.
Dave Roberts said the team will likely not put him on the injured list, though he is getting imaging for the injury.
Blake Snell is joining the rotation as well on Saturday, which will require another active roster move.
Possibly, Gervase is a one-day stopgap option as Glasnow gets moved to the injured list and Snell joins on Saturday.
There is no clear candidate to get demoted from the bullpen, with Kyle Hurt shining in his role. However, with him coming back from Tommy John surgery, the Dodgers could opt to move him down to limit his workload more and keep him healthy.
Unless there is an unknown injury, Gervase will likely just be joining the team for a day or two before returning to Oklahoma City.
Gervase’s impressive minor league 2026 start
Over nine relief appearances in 2026, Gervase has a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 innings of work. He has allowed six hits, five runs, and nine walks with 17 punchouts.
The skyscraping pitcher will certainly get more looks down the line after he is optioned down to the minor leagues if he keeps pitching in Triple-A like he is right now.
There will be other, last injuries that will hit the Dodgers and the organization clearly feels like he has a role with the team and factors into their plans.
