As with everything the NFL does these days, they try to make the most money they can off of it. In this case it’s the schedule release. They can’t just put out the schedule at a specific time on a specific day. They can’t even just make a single program announcing the schedule. No, they have to make a whole week event out of it, trickling out select games on various networks so everyone gets a piece of the pie. But most importantly, the NFL gets that bag.
