The kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie has been dominating headlines for more than three months. In the past few days, multiple speculations around her disappearance have made rounds on social media. While some mentioned the DNA test, others felt that Savannah’s mother might be dead until now. Amid that, an ex-lieutenant, Dave Smith, recently claimed that Nancy’s kidnapper might have taken her to Mexico.
Is Nancy Guthrie taken to Mexico?
Amid the intense investigation to find the whereabouts of Nancy Guthrie, some officials have raised questions about the possibility of Nancy crossing international boundaries. Well, a retired law enforcement officer named Dave Smith explained that his first thought in such a big crime is Mexico. He always wonders if the victim was shifted to Mexico. Dave Smith also stated that till now the authorities have explored this side. He was quoted as saying:
“My first thought is always Mexico in a major crime, because it’s a great haven, and it’s hard for us to follow up on. But in this case, obviously, there was somebody who was taken with intent. And I think that that’s why we need to wonder, perhaps, was she taken to Mexico? My personal theory is, if Mexico was suspected, that would make it a federal investigation. There seemed to be a great deal of effort to keep the feds out of this case. And the best way to do it was to deny any possibility of interstate or international transport of the person’s body or kidnapping.”
