Major League Baseball is about to become more exciting for the fans with the coveted annual Rivalry Weekend set to begin from May 15-17. Each team will face its biggest rival in a three-game series. Texas fans have plenty to look forward to as the Rangers and Astros renew the Silver Boot Series, one of the most heated rivalries in the American League, alongside marquee matchups like the Subway Series and Freeway Series.
There will be 15 high-stakes matchups, with historic and geographic rivalries embedded in the games. With so much action-packed into the games, fans will be excited for the matchups.
Top five rivalry weekend 2026 matchups
The Rivalry Weekend schedule includes 11 interleague matchups and four regional rivalries, with the games focused on historic and geographic competitions. Five of these matchups are expected to be the most awaited.
1. Yankees at Mets (Subway Series – Citi Field)
The Subway Series stands as the premier highlight of Rivalry Weekend, and is already drawing massive attention due to the history and passion involved in this game. This weekend’s matchup includes several key player reunions with multiple players experiencing their first Subway Series in new uniforms after offseason moves. 2. Dodgers at Angels (Freeway Series – Angel Stadium)
