Stephon Castle led the San Antonio Spurs to a convincing 139-109 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6. With this win, the Spurs ultimately sealed their spot in the Western Conference finals by clinching the series 4-2.
Following the Game 6, Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson was asked whether this was the best performance of Castle’s young career given the pressure of the moment.
“It was pretty damn good,” Johnson said. “I thought his temperament and disposition led to him having the right approach and playing the right way.”

Castle’s performance also made NBA history, as he surpassed Luka Doncic to become the youngest player ever to record at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 made threes in a single game, according to Stathead.
Only a select group of players, such as Magic Johnson, LeBron James, Paolo Banchero and Doncic have ever reached this mark in a playoff game, even without factoring in three-pointers.
Across the postseason so far, Castle has been producing at an elite level with averages of 19.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists. His two-way impact has ignited discussions about his rapid rise and how central he has become to the Spurs’ future alongside Victor Wembanyama. His expanded scoring, rebounding, and defensive consistency have transformed his overall profile.
The Spurs are now set for the showdown against the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. If they can replicate their regular-season success against the Thunder over a seven-game series, they would secure a trip to the NBA Finals.
