Josh Hokit’s busy UFC 328 fight week continued on Saturday night.
The heavyweight contender was thrown out of the UFC White House press conference following a confrontation with Ilia Topuria.
A day later, Hokit nearly got into another scuffle, this time with a top light heavyweight at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Josh Hokit and Paulo Costa get into a heated exchange at UFC 328
Footage has emerged of a heated confrontation between Josh Hokit and Paulo Costa during UFC 328, quickly making the rounds on social media.
The video shows Costa walking over to Hokit, getting up close, and pointing a finger in his face. Hokit responded by saying: “There is only one bad guy.”
The situation escalated when Hokit attempted to grab the drink out of Costa’s hand, prompting security to intervene before things got further out of hand.
“There is only one bad guy. Get out of here,” Hokit shouted as Costa was being moved away by staff.
Costa tried to fight his way back towards him, but several men held him back from getting any closer. The rowdy crowd in attendance loved every second of it.
Josh Hokit’s next opponent after UFC 328
Josh Hokit gained plenty of support after his win over Curtis Blaydes in a Fight of the Year candidate at UFC 327 last month.
The UFC quickly booked him for the White House card, set for June 14, and gave him one of the biggest names in the division.
He’ll take on Derrick Lewis, who holds the record for most knockouts in UFC history, at what promises to be a historic MMA event. If Hokit pulls off another win, it will only add momentum to calls for him to get a title shot against Tom Aspinall.
The winner of Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane is already lined up for that opportunity, though, so Hokit may need to be patient before getting his chance at gold. In the meantime, a bout with Paulo Costa could be on the cards following his fight with Lewis.
