While the Dodgers offense experienced both highs and lows on their most previous road trip, the pitching mostly held up their end, with four starting pitchers tossing quality starts. The only scoreless performance the Dodgers got from their rotation came from Justin Wrobleski on Sunday, as he continues to prove himself as a viable big league starter.
Entering the 2026 season, Wrobleski had made just eight starts over his first two seasons, posting a 6.55 ERA over 45 1/3 innings. Wrobleski made one relief appearance against the Cleveland Guardians before making his first start against the Toronto Blue Jays, and since then, he’s been one of the most effective pitchers in all of baseball.
Wrobleski is leading the Dodgers with five wins on the year, and is just second in the entire sport behind teammate Shohei Ohtani in ERA for all pitchers with at least 30 innings. His strikeout rate is among the league worst, registering just 15 over 36 innings, but where he makes up for it is his ability to miss barrels. Opposing hitters are hitting .197 against him with zero home runs while barreling up the ball just six percent of the time for a .222 average on balls in play.
With Blake Snell set to return to the team after one more rehab start in Triple-A, there is a very strong case for Wrobleski to keep his spot in the rotation, per Brent Maguire of MLB.com.
How Wrobleski will perform the rest of the year is unclear. What is clear is the young left-hander has made a strong case to stay in the Dodgers’ rotation with the impending return of Blake Snell later this month.
As far as which Dodger will be axed from the rotation once Snell returns and if Tyler Glasnow will be ready for his next start, Dave Roberts is still undecided on who will find themselves in the bullpen, per Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Emmet Sheehan will try to prove his worth tonight against the former Cy Young award winner Chris Sale.
In making that decision, “there’s a lot of different ways we can go,” Roberts said… “If we get to that point it’s going to be a good conversation, a tougher conversation with someone,” Roberts said.

Miguel Rojas had the opportunity to chat with his former Marlins teammate and former Dodger Curtis Granderson on TNT prior to Tuesday’s game, where the infielder discussed the transition from playing everyday to being in a bench/platoon role and the importance of being the best teammate he can be.
“I think it’s just the experience; the opportunity I had to go to Miami and kind of set myself and give myself an opportunity to play everyday. A lot of things that happened throughout my career shaped me as not just the player that I am right now, but the leader, the example, the good teammate. That’s what I wanted to do. I always wanted to grow into a position like this.”
